If you’ve already made the switch from smoking tobacco cigarettes to puffing electronic cigarettes or ‘vaping’, you’re amongst the millions who’ve embraced this anti-tobacco craze. While the consensus is still out as to whether or not e-cigs are safer than regular cigarettes, the band wagon is growing exponentially.
The vapors, or smoke, that billow from vaporizers and electronic cigarette devices are much more enjoyable and tolerable (from a non-smokers standpoint) than the smoke from a regular, tobacco cigarette. Main ingredients of electronic smoke consist of propylene glycol, glycerin, nicotine, and flavorings. The pleasant aroma of the smoke is lighter because it doesn’t contain the chemicals associated with tobacco cigarettes. Plus, the electronic devices do not produce smoke unless they’re being dragged on. And, depending on your flavor preferences, the aromas can be rather delightful.
One of the most intriguing advantages to vaping is that there’s a plethora of aromas, flavors and tastes available to make the e-cig smoking experience somewhat alluring and much more personal. Vape users can choose from hundreds of e-juice flavors including favorites such as fruits, candy and mints, as well as liqueurs, coffee, caramel and traditional cigarette flavors. Each individual e-cig user can create their own blend by combining flavors to satisfy his or her unique taste preferences.
It’s important to make sure your e-juice is of food grade quality – the less ingredients, the better. After vigorous research, we’ve chosen our favorite brand and we’re pleased to announce VaporFi as the all-around best for flavor choices, quality of juice, and vaporizer models. They offer a complete selection from e-cigs to beautifully crafted vaporizers, as well as hundreds of accessories including batteries, chargers, tanks, etc. Their flavors are well-rounded and their USA made liquids are of the highest quality.
Let’s go back to the main ingredients found in vaping and e-cig smoke; specifically, propylene glycol and glycerin. Propylene glycol is an organic, liquid based compound that’s used in various edible items such as coffee-based drinks, liquid sweeteners, ice cream, whipped dairy products and soda. According to the The Journal of Pharmacology, propylene glycol—or PG—is a main ingredient in albuterol, or asthma inhalers, and is perfectly safe to inhale when vaporized.
Glycerin is also a non-toxic simple liquid compound that’s sweet-tasting. Glycerin is what allows the smoker to blow out large amounts of smoke after dragging on the vaporizer or e-cigarette. Cloud chasing has become a ‘sport ‘, so-to-speak, in the world of vaping. A cloud chaser is an e-cig user who blows bigger, thicker and longer plumes of smoke.
When these 2 compounds are heated and convert to vapor, the smoke is considered ‘wet’ or ‘misty’ and allows for condensation. While not nearly as harmful as 2nd hand tobacco smoke, there are some environmental impacts to consider;
There will always remain a majority of people who don’t believe that vaping is safe – either to the vape-er or to the non-vape-er. In order to build trust and respect, we need to bridge to gap and between those who enjoy the pleasures of vaping to those who find it offensive. We’ll cover how to keep the peace between those who vape and those who don’t in our next vaping article.
