Replacement UV Bulb for Vertex PureWaterCoolers should be changed annually to keep your water virus and bacteria-free!

Ultraviolet light is used for disinfecting filtered water. The replacement UV lamp radiates at 253.7 nanometers with a power flux of 40,000 microwatt seconds per square centimeter. UV energy at 254 nm kills 99.9% of various microorganisms and harmful bacteria in point-of-use filter systems and is FDA approved for disinfecting filtered water. The UV option may be used as the last stage on POU filter systems for well water in rural areas, or in towns and villages that have uncertain chlorination.

Replace Annually - The UV bulbs have a 9,000-hour life - approximately 1 year of use.

NOTE: There are 2 different UV bulbs available. Please check your cooler model for the correct replacement bulb.

  • UV-4023 - 14 - Watt UV Sterilizer for Vertex PureWaterCoolers purchased during or after 2012. The UV lamp stays on continuously and is irradiated by ultraviolet light as it flows around the lamp. The lamp slides into a quartz tube which is sealed from the water and a purple color shows through the plastic flow fittings while it is working. It is powered by a 14-watt power pack that plugs into a standard 110-volt outlet. (UV4023)

The lamp slides into a quartz tube which is sealed from the water and a purple color shows through the plastic flow fittings while it is working. An alarm in the power-pack sounds when the bulb burns out. A 6-watt transformer powers the UV bulb and is pre-wired to the cooler. (UV4061)
